'YOU are going to tell them. You are going to stand up for Barrow'.

Joan has an important job offer for you- to be a positive ambassador for Barrow!

In this letter to a future generation, she reminds us that we should be proud of the place we come from and that when we look hard enough, there is a lot to champion.

This is a voiceover from Joan, alongside an immersive tour of Barrow where you catch a new view through the windows of local community spaces…

'MY FAVOURITE PLACE'

6 Minutes | 2024

‘I've been keeping an eye out for my future’

In our first creative session with ‘Pause, for Thought’ group at Women’s community matters, one of their ideas was a magical tent that travels across Barrow.

We paired this fantastic idea with other themes from our workshops with the young women- which included identity, belonging and aspiration.

We felt so welcome making this film in locations across the town and loved the process of helping Elissa find her favourite place...

JUST A LITTLE CHAT

3.5 mins | 2024

Filmed at the Bumblebee at the Hive Cafe, we captured Emily and Bernice meeting and connecting for the first time.

Through a series of creative tasks and insightful conversation, they expressed feelings around perceptions, age, and intergenerational links.

This piece is a nod to the possibility and joy found in simple connections with new people.

What if the future of Barrow was forged in moments like these?

'THE SLEEPING TEACHER'

 3 Minutes | 2023

Many Barrow residents we spoke to shared a common dream; a desire to ‘brighten up’ the town.

We invited workshop attendees to generate ideas for artwork that could decorate the streets, and discuss things they hope to see in and around the local area- making the town a more curious place to explore.

We combined some of these thoughts and images with snippets from a from a wide-ranging interview we conducted with John, a local man, who has so many ideas for the future of Barrow that we could have filled a book!
